10 Toxic Foods That Some Other Countries Won't Even Touch

Foods from the U.S. are banned in other countries mainly because of chemical additives that pose health risks.

However, those same foods are given to U.S. citizens with full knowledge of the physical danger, unlike other countries who work extra hard to protect their people from adverse food and drug effects.

Sadly, much of the food Americans eat is inferior to the same foods sold in other nations, which is why many of the foods we eat in the U.S. are banned in other countries. Which brings me to the reason for this post.

We want to look at 10 regularly consumed food and drinks that are allowed in America while being banned in other countries.

Looking at these foods, I want us to realize 'why' they are denied entry into other countries. Abs as for those of us who eat these banned foods, we can decide whether we want to continue eating them after learning they are dangerous and unfit for consumption.

These posts are never about criticizing but about unrestricted knowledge. And we all can agree that 'knowing' is necessary to have the freedom of choice.

10. Milk and Dairy Products Laced with rBGH

rBGH is a synthetic version of natural bovine somatotropin or BST which is injected into cows to increase milk production and is banned in 30 other nations because of its dangers to human health. This chemical increases the risk for colorectal, prostate and breast cancer.

rBGH-injected cows that were part of a Monsanto-financed study at the University of Vermont suffered serious health problems, including an alarming rise in the number of deformed calves and dramatic increases in mastitis, a painful bacterial infection of the udder, which causes inflammation,   swelling, and pus and blood secretions into milk.
The common sense way to avoid rBGH would be to pay more for organic foods. Otherwise, you would have to look for labeling that specifically says "no rBGH". Would we trust a mere label given what we know?

9.   Preservatives BHA and BHT

BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole) and BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) are used as preservatives in gums like chicklets, fruit juices marketed to children and various candies--just to name a fraction. BHA causes cancer in rats, which could easily be the case in humans. Foods with these chemicals are banned in Japan, the UK rejects BHA in baby foods and the toxin is refused in parts of the European Union.

8.   Olestra (Olean)

Procter & Gamble created Olean as a calorie and cholesterol-free fat substitute they use in snacks like chips designated as fat-free. This artificial toxin causes leaky bowels, diarrhea, and cramps and interferes with the body's absorption of vitamins such as A, D, E, and K. The UK and Canada banned the toxin, Olean or Olestra.

Products containing Olestra are Lay's light products, Doritos Light Nacho Cheese, Ruffles Light products, Tostitos Light Restaurant Style, Procter & Gamble's Fat-Free Pringles, Fat-Free Bar-B-Q Pringles and Fat-Free Sour Cream and Onions Pringles.

I guess you can "eat just one" after all.

7.   Flame Retardant Drinks

This includes citrus-flavored sodas and so-called sports drinks sold in the U.S. that contain the synthetic chemical called brominated vegetable oil (BVO), which was originally patented as "flame retardant". These death drinks are banned in other countries by the way.

Okay. I'm done. Why would we need 'flame retardant' in drinks? Maybe it would extinguish the fire from a potential combustion caused by a mixture of all the other synthetic toxins and chemicals in the body. Ya think?

6.   Ractopamine-Tainted Meat

This beta drug called 'ractopamine' reduces the fat content of meat. Also banned in other countries, it's currently used in 45 percent of U.S. pigs, 30 percent of ration-fed cattle, and a disturbingly unknown percentage of turkeys. People like us--regular consumers--eat this toxin in the meat we buy because 20 percent of ractopamine remains in the meat and is consumed. Watch the video below:

5.   Genetically Engineered Papaya

Research shows that animals fed genetically engineered foods such as corn and soy suffer intestinal damage, multiple-organ damage, massive tumors, birth defects, premature death, and near complete sterility by the third generation of offspring. Unfortunately, most Hawaiian papaya is now genetically engineered to be resistant to ringspot virus. But is that process harmful to the consumer? Genetically engineered papaya is banned in the European Union.

4.   Farm-Raised Salmon

In fairness, it must be said that natural Astaxanthin is a powerful antioxidant. Of course, the synthetic version was manufactured in a laboratory, which is what poses the danger. Farmed Salmon that are fed unnatural grains and a mixture of antibiotics and other drugs are banned in Australia and New Zealand. This diet gives the fish a grayish flesh, so to compensate, they're fed synthetic astaxanthin made from petrochemicals, which are not approved for human consumption.

3.   Processed Foods Containing Artificial Food Colors and Dyes

Over 3.000 food additives in the form of preservatives, flavorings, colors, dyes and other toxic ingredients are added to the U.S. food supply, many of which are banned in other countries. The toxicity and hazardous health effects are extremely dangerous for children who eat things like Cheetos.

2.   Bread With Potassium Bromate

Studies link the carcinogen, potassium bromate, to kidney and nervous system damage, thyroid problems, gastrointestinal discomfort, and cancer--which is why it's banned in Canada, China, and the European Union. This additive is added to commercial bread and baked goods and is consumed by the entire population.

1.    Arsenic-Laced Chicken

The European Union does not allow arsenic-laced drugs in food animals. However, the toxin is approved for use in animal feed in the U.S. to make them grow quicker and make meat appear pinker or fresher. This video says it all...

Now that you have the short list, as there are many more, you can imagine the millions of Americans who eat all, or some of the above foods and depending on the amount we consume, we are sure to have several ailments, illnesses and or diseases as a result.

Choices...
